Virtual Field Trips
FACETS offers grade-appropriate Virtual Field Trip screening programs, each addressing important issues like international perspectives, diversity and inclusion, anti-bullying, STEM, and more.
During Virtual Field Trips, students watch a film program curated by the experts at FACETS Chicago International Children's Film Festival (CICFF) and designed to connect to education curriculum goals.
Flexible pricing is available for groups of 12 to 100+ and we offer a Synchronous Media Education Add-On for only $100 for groups that want a guided discussion led by FACETS' expert media educators.
Geo-blocking Notice: Due to virtual screening restrictions, Virtual Field Trip programs are only accessible to those viewing in the Chicagoland area.

Why should my school attend?
Kids and teens are growing up in the most media-saturated time in history. While they have access to a large amount of media, they don't always have access to the knowledge or resources to fully understand the impact of the content they engage with.
Our school group screenings approach this problem head on by using film to teach students about how media impacts their daily lives.
What is included?
Each group purchases access to a film program to view and will receive our Group Screening Curriculum (PDF), aligned with Common Core and Fine Arts Standards offering a range of classroom activities and assessment options.
What kinds of films are screened?
Films curated for FACETS Virtual Field Trips include official selections from FACETS Chicago International Children's Film Festival (CICFF) which features 250 films annually from over 40 countries annually, and contains a wide variety of genres and filmmaking styles.
Our programs contain artistically innovative, intellectually engaging, international films that approach youth and the world they inhabit with a range of emotional complexity from joyful to the profound.
